Imagine the excitement of dusting down sheets of a vellum map, draw in 1617 by one of the most highly respected surveyors of Elizabethan England. Then finding out that the quiet Cambridgeshire village of Balsham was a thriving village with significant wealth, traded by the Crown and fought over by rich families. Come and join us on a journey through 400 years of history of a village. Read about historic maps, uncover the stories behind streets and houses from the owners themselves and the landscape still reveals our ancestors footsteps.
